Modern, friendly city. Generally clean with lovely green spaces. Not a lot of historical interest so better for short visits.
Some areas a bit seedy & too much emphasis on it being a great place for music - most of what we heard was poor ! We found food & drinks surprisingly expensive.

Austin is a great town.
Austin is a great town. There are tons of great restaurants, shops, parks, outdoor activities, bars and dance clubs. Everything was within walking distance or a short uber/Lyft drive away. I would highly recommend visiting Austin. But, probably not in the summer :|

Austin was an unexpectedly beautiful and pleasant city.
Austin was an unexpectedly beautiful and pleasant city. Walkable parks and downtown. The Capitol is beautiful and UT campus is really nice.Lots to see and visit. Many great restaurants and, of course, music venues. The neighborhoods are beautiful, especially around SoCo (but I wouldn't be able to buy a house there).

This city is much larger than I expected and is growing rapidly. There are wonderful things to see and do and the people are wonderful. We took an hour long river boat ride where the skyline and 'lake' was explained. We went to live music at the smaller stage at the ACL. We took a 3 hour long tour of haunted sites. We were there for the eclipse but we drove out of the city to the Hill Country outside of Austin which was delightful. Unfortunately the transportation infrastructure in Austin is just not able to accommodate all that growth so traffic is quite a problem and there is almost no public transportation.

It was fun to watch the bats come out at night.
It was fun to watch the bats come out at night. The BBQ place we picked had a line but still had food after 8pm. There is some history here which we enjoyed viewing on our car tour. Downtown is quieter during the day than the night.

There is so much to do in Austin.
There is so much to do in Austin. We stayed 3 nights just outside the city - between driving in and wandering the city, it wasn't enough. We were really impressed by the number and range of food options - food trucks, cafes, and restaurants. If you're into food, music, nature, shopping, socializing, and/or exploring urban spaces, we highly recommend this city.
Staff was extremely friendly even accommodating an early check-in and late check-out. There were a couple of different restaurants in the hotel each with amazing food and great service. The hotel itself is located within walking distance to several shops and restaurants around the downtown Austin area so there's always someplace to explore. My Room was on the top floor and had fantastic views of the city, and once you figured out the new elevator system getting to the top floor with limited stops was pretty easy.
the location is amazing. i was in austin for SXSW and easrt cesar chavez is the perfect spot to be if you want a) to be close enough to all the action but b) far enough that when you get out of downtown you still have peace and quiet.
the bars, the restaurants & all in all vibe in east cesar chavez was perfect. the 6 minute scooter ride to the convention center was perfect.
and the house: wow. love the deco. has everything one would need. well kept ammenities. and very nice neighbors.
Perfect location to visit this part of Austin. We live nearby and wanted to stay downtown to watch the Longhorns play Washington at Rustic Tap (which is across the street). The hotel is very comfortable, hidden back off the street, and the staff are wonderful. We've had drinks at the bar before and they were great (old fashion). Rooms are cozy and clean. You can hear the street noise; however, the hotel provides a white noise machine and ear plugs. You will not go wrong staying here!
Brandnew hotel in a beautiful, revitalized location in close vicinity to a park and a variety of entertainment and dining opportunities. Public transit options to downtown Austin in walking distance. Bright and stylish decor of the hotel, comfortable rooms with spacious bathrooms. The staff at check-in and at the valet service was very friendly and oustandingly helpful!
I go to Austin monthly, this is one of ~20 different hotels I've stayed at while in town. The hotel is much closer to the Capital building area, and a little further away but still walkable to the downtown attractions like restaurants, bars, and Bitcoin Commons. The kitchen setup in my room was great, would have been even better if I was staying for longer.
The location is brilliant - right in the centre of downtown, next to the Capitol. We walked everywhere and there are public buses nearby to get to different parts of Austin (including one that goes directly to the aiport).
Staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was spacious, beds very comfortable and excellent shower pressure. Good WiFi signal.
It was the cheapest hotel we found in Austin. This city is incredibly expensive, so anything below $70/night is a steal so long as the door can lock! The facilities did look pretty worn down from the outside, but the rooms were genuinely clean and comfy, and it's only a 15 min drive from downtown. If you have a little patience, it's a great budget option!
A modern, upscale, vibrant hotel, with some fun restaurants and bars, a great pool, very pleasant rooms and located near all the good places Austin has to offer. A stroll to Rainey Street, to 6th, to Red River st, and to the riverside. Just on the edge of downtown. I rarely give a 10, but this hotel deserves it.
The hotel is right off the highway yet is within a mile of Austin's well-known free public heated outdoor swimming pool (Big Stacey Pool). There is plenty of parking at the hotel and this hotel is quite close to downtown Austin, just over the river from the downtown area.
This was the quietest hotel I have ever stayed at while traveling. I know there were other guests because there were other cars, but I never heard any of them from my room. The location is also great to access the downtown Austin area in 10 minutes.
bed was really comfortable. Decent location next to loads of bars and restaurants! With a 35 minute walk into downtown austin. Little christmas bar on location was really good and i like how there is a barbers next door.
I highly recommend this hotel! The rooms are spacious and clean! The front desk staff were very friendly. The distance from Austin downtown is not too bad. The beds are comfortable. I will definitely stay here again!
The hotel is located within walking distance from downtown Austin and other places. The staff is very friendly and I would stay there again. They have a nice pool and other things within the hotel to do.
Excellent location, friendly staff, comfortable bed and quiet room. Price was lower end of downtown hotels but still wasn't what I would call "cheap." Overall solid experience and would stay here again
The staff was very friendly and helpful! The location was close to the UT Austin, and overall close to downtowns/cafes. You can easily get around on a taxi or one of the lime scooters that are around.
Great location, right near the river and in the heart of downtown Austin. Great facilities in the apartment, nice and clean, spacious and included parking which was a huge bonus! Pool area is great.
Sammie was unbelievably helpful to us before and during our our stay! The location was perfect for the Austin Convention Centre and bars in downtown Austin - we barely needed an taxi for anything.
