FAQs about hotels in Jerez de la Frontera

A Tradition of Sherry, Horses and Flamenco

A town synonymous with sherry, dancing horses and motorsports, Jerez de la Frontera also features the typical Andalusian traits of gorgeous sunshine, elaborately painted tiles and rhythmic flamenco.

The latter was reportedly born here and the town is home to the Andalusian Center of Flamenco. Nearby is the "bodega" of Harveys, a sherry brand with great wine cellar tours. Others include Pedro Domecq – the oldest – and the internationally acclaimed Tio Pepe.

There's no shortage of horse statues all over town and a park houses the Royal Andalusian School of Equestrian Art, a dressage riding school with public performances. The annual Jerez Horse Fair is an even more spectacular event that takes over the whole town. The town is also teeming with bike enthusiasts during the Spanish Moto GP, the same circuit that hosts pre-season F1 testing.

Other sights include Jerez Alcázar, an 11th-century Moorish castle, and the multifaceted cathedral which is beautifully lit at night. Plaza del Mercado has the archaeology museum and part of the city walls surround the historic center. The Hammam Andalusí has a wonderful Arab baths experience, and the Cartuja monastery provides delicious soul food.

Booking.com’s Jerez de la Frontera accommodations include 5-star hotels with pools, cheap apartments and guesthouses near the train station, with direct connections to Jerez Airport.

Plenty of Andalucian culture to explore, from Flamenco, Sherry, the Cathedral, historic old town with winding alleyways, dancing horses, fantastic central market with fruit, veg and seafood. There are plenty of bars and restaurants to enjoy and its relatively easy to navigate on foot.

Jerez is such an authentic place to be.

Jerez is such an authentic place to be. It oozes Andalucian charm. Visit the cafes surrounding the market for the cheapest, loveliest coffee. We highly recommend a visit to Lustau for their sherry tasting experience, just excellent!

Jerez is a very beautiful city, especially the old town.

Jerez is a very beautiful city, especially the old town. There are lots of beautiful old buildings of a very regal architecture, lots of restaurants and bars with great food, and the atmosphere throughout town is very happy and jovial. It was especially nice as we visited during the Feria de los Caballos, when all the women in town wore their amazing Flamenco dresses, horse carriages are everywhere and the Feria park is also a sight to behold. We also visited some horse riding competitions and the horses and riders are just astoundingly competent and a great pleasure to watch. All of this was accompanied with the special local drink,a jug of fine sherry mixed with fresh mint and lemonade... I could get used to this!

Good location with plenty of bars and eateries adjacent. Quirky boutique hotel with good facilities. On site restaurant which we used for evening meal and breakfast was good. Off site parking 2/3 minutes away was straight forward but essential.

Jerez is lovely with some great bars and restaurants.

Jerez is lovely with some great bars and restaurants. It is easy to walk around and it felt very friendly. A highlight was a visit to the Palacio del Virrey Laserna, which is on the street behind the Tourist Information building on the Plaza de Arenal. It belongs to the current Count de los Andes who conducts the tour himself. It's 8 euros and is on Tuesday to Saturday at 1.15 and 4,15 (or 5,15 May to Oct) and lasts 40 minutes. The house is full of history and the most amazing paintings and treasures. We were there for the MotoGP so Jerez was very lively (but very friendly) with music and pop up bars everywhere for the whole weekend. (If you're going for the MotoGP and travelling to the circuit by bus, get to the bus stop early as the bus queues are VERY long, the buses aren't as frequent as every 10 minutes, and it can take the bus up to an hour to get to the circuit.) We would definitely go back to Jerez as there was so much that we didn't have time to do, including a sherry tour and tasting.

Jerez is an attractive and interesting town, not yet...

Jerez is an attractive and interesting town, not yet diminished by excessive tourism, but some ,may feel its attractions. very worthwhile though they are, could be rather limited. The only reason we thought a stay of 7 days was rather too long is that we felt it might have been rather a good idea to have stayed in Jerez for 3 or 4 nights, the balance of the holiday being in nearly Cadiz, which, from a day trip there, appeared inviting. We thought a 'twin city' break could be a pretty good idea.

The hotel is only minutes from the restaurants, Alcazar and Bodegas you may wish to visit. Virginia must be one of the best hosts we have had from any hotel we have stayed at. She really cares about her guests and wants you to have the best time with advice on restaurants, places to visit and happy to spend time actually booking if you wish. On the day we were leaving she had booked the taxi for us and, although she was not working on the Sunday we left, rang me at the time to make sure the taxi had arrived and allwas Ok.

The location is really good once you find your bearings , about a 10 minute pleasant stroll to the City centre but there are a few decent bars and restaurants nearby if you don't fancy the walk. The hotel is more of a business hotel than a holiday hotel and the parking facilities are an absolute must. The rooms were typical and the breakfast was excellent .

Room was spacious, clean and bed very comfortable. Reakfast not included in room rate, but you could get coffee and croissant for 3£. The hotel menu was small but food really good (best pizza in a long time). The outdoor area was also quite large and pool looked really nice. The staff were extremely helpful and cordial. Easy to drive to with parking under the Hotel. Easy walk from the Hotel right into the heart of Jerez and all the bars, shops and restaurants. Large bedroom, good shower, balcony doors overlooking the street below. All clean and well managed. In 20 mins we walked to the Royal Andalucian Horse School, a fantastic location and worth a visit.

The rooms were ok but lacked what I would expect in a 4 star hotel. The best think going for this hotel was its location. I am assuming that as the Soho group have taken it over standards will improve.
