The staff were helpful and the single room was a good price value, but the room with two beds was so cramped that it's hard for two travelers with suitcases to be comfortable for anything but a very short stay. The beds were comfortable, the room was just claustrophobic. The "spa" area was clean. There is a subway station very close to the hotel and so many options for stores and restaurants. Very convenient location and felt safe everywhere we went.

FAQs about hotels in Tokyo

See It to Believe It!

The capital of Japan, Tokyo is a vast, teeming metropolis nestled between mountains and Tokyo Bay. It’s so huge that you’ll have to come to grips with public transport and maybe even experience being pushed onto a train. Yes, it does actually happen!

Get your bearings by ascending the Tokyo World Trade Center near the waterfront, and savor the fantastic views taking in the red-and-white Tokyo Tower and Shinkuju’s skyscrapers. North is Ueno, home to the best museums (including the Tokyo National Museum) and a large park bursting with cherry blossom in spring.

Equally tranquil are the Chiyoda Imperial Palace and Gardens, surrounded by water. Also in gardens is the Meiji Jingu Shinto shrine in Shibuya, a youthful district where neon abounds.

For more traditional Japanese culture, head to Asakusa whose Sensō-ji Buddhist temple is Tokyo’s oldest temple. Outdoor markets sell a variety of wares, though shopping in Tokyo is, of course, fantastic wherever you go.

Whether you stay in a Japanese ryokan, luxury Tokyo hotel or a hostel, don’t fly out of Tokyo Narita Airport or Haneda Airport without having tried sushi. Another Japanese institution is the sento (public bath) and onsen (hot springs bath) – a must try. Also incredibly popular are Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea, Asia’s 2 most visited theme parks.

I was born in Japan and have been there on and off...

I was born in Japan and have been there on and off throughout my Life. It has changed so much in that that there are more foreigners now than there ever was, so Japanese have come to put up with them, but not everybody. I speak the language having been born here which makes it easier and adapt to Japanese customs. ("When in Rome, do as the Romans do!") It seems more crowded than usual with all the tourists, which brings patience into play here. I feel the younger Japanese are changing, not like I am used to, but that could be everywhere as I'm used to and familiar with the "old" Japan.

Nothing but positive. Too many to describe. Love the Japanese culture, politeness , respect, subway is fantastic, public washroom is amazingly clean. Lots of souvenirs to buy so bring an extra luggage. Amazing food. 7-Eleven stores did not disappoint. We lived on 7 Eleven food 😆. The Making of Harry Potter studio and Teamlab is not to be missed aside from all the surrounding areas. We ll be back. Do your research as there are too many things to see.

    We loved Tokyo.

We loved Tokyo. Every neighbourhood has its own vibe although we didnt have time to see enough. You need cash to buy metro tickets I found (the machines wouldnt take my bank card) but every station has super helpful staff on hand to help recharge your Pasmo travel card if/when needed. We ate at several low-key local ramen places and also the food market at solamuchi. Akihabara is a must for teens, as is Shibuya crossing, Shuinjuku and of course, the mega shop Don Quijote. There is so much to see and do in Tokyo it doesnt take much planning to be entertained! Enjoy the meandering (and the gadja gadja/capsule machines!)

We stayed at Tokyo in 2 parts, the first part of the trip (6 days) and the last one (2 days). It has so much to see that a few days aren't enough. You can see the main points in a few days, but it will be rushed and some things will pass by. Child dream, finally come true. Surpassed every expectation. Eager to return. Would live there easily. Is that good!!! Things we did there: Kart trip inside city Lots of temples Shibuya Cross and Shibuya Sky Asakusa is a really good place to live Be prepared when going to Shinjuku station (we weren't), its a small city on its own underground. In my honest oppinion, skip the robot cafe (Pepper Parlor). Is a novelty, yes, but only that. The robot interactions are quite limited and the food is so-so. Had a better experience with the Dawn Avatar Robot Café, wich as a more altruist goal, a bit pricy, but good experience. About food in general, there is no mistaking, most places are good. One golden rule: Has cue and locals? Then is good.

We loved the location of this hotel. It was close to everything we wanted to do in Shinjuku and Shibuya. A 10min walk to the train station with lots of shops, bars and restaurants along the way. The hotel was beautiful as well as the rooms with great views of the city. Everything was automated, like the lights, the blinds, even the toilet seat would automatically lift up when you walked into the bathroom! The Premier club lounge was excellent, and it included all drinks and snacks, plus gorgeous views of the city.

Location is perfect for shopping around Shinjuku district but also good if you want to go to the other major shopping areas. I traveled from airport by taking the limousine bus, the trip was around 100 mins and the NEX at JR Shinjuku station to airport, both are very convenient. I stayed at economy double for 1st night and move to a twin room when my husband join me, it’s much spacious and of good size for 2 persons. A lot of restaurants nearby. The hotel buffet breakfast provided good variety of food

The location of the hotel was ideal, easy to travel to Shibuya, Shinjuku etc. The design of the space (using timber and red painted metal/concrete) was really interesting and continued into the saunas, which was really nice. The staff were very understanding and helped to make things very comfortable, not to mention the ability to keep suitcases behind the counter after the 10am checkout or before the 2pm check-in. Overall, enjoyed this stay so much to where I want to experience more capsule hotels in Japan.

This hotel is located in a central part of Shibuya and is easily walkable to Harajuku. It has a "cool" vibe with an Italian restaurant on the main floor and a coffee shop/bar on the ground floor. The staff were helpful when we needed them but generally hands-off as you check-in and check-out on computers in the lobby yourself. Our room was on the 13th floor so we didn't hear any street noise, which was nice. My husband and I enjoyed our stay overall.

Staff were friendly. Hotel was nicely decorated and clean. Laundry service was easy to use but some guests took a long time to remove their clothes from finished cycles although not the hotels fault. The area around the hotel is fantastic! The park is beautiful. It’s quiet and calm and only a short walk from Shinjuku station.
