Circuit information
The European Grand Prix is going to be held in Valencia, being one of the 2 new races added to the 2008 calendar. The Grand Prix will be held on a circuit around the Spanish port's streets in the Valencia Street Circuit. The organizers of the race expect that it is going to be a real competition for the legendary street race of Monaco from all aspects.
The 5.5 kilometer long circuit was designed by Herman Tilke and partners therefore overtaking is guaranteed, even if we are talking about a street circuit. The track has a total of 25 turns - 11 right ones and 14 left ones. It is estimated that the track would have a top speed in excess of 300 km/h and a lap time of 1min 37s. The circuit is expected to have a grandstand capacity of 100,000.
